Getting Here and Getting Around

We can't wait to see you on Commencement Day!

Driving

  • Use the Commencement Parking Map [PDF] to get directions for graduates and guests with travel routes, parking zones, and Commencement shuttle stops. Once on campus, all roads are not open.
  • Use the Waze app on the day of Commencement to navigate to the Blue ZoneGray Zone, and Orange Zone
  • Curbside drop-off is strictly prohibited at SHI Stadium
New Jersey Turnpike

Parking

Commencement digital parking passes are required to park on the New Brunswick-area campuses on Commencement day. Parking permits issued by the Department of Transportation Services will not be valid on this day. Graduates may request up to two free Commencement digital parking passes to be used by themselves and their guests. There are also opportunities to purchase additional digital parking passes.

There are three campus parking zones, as well as two accessible parking zones. Follow the driving directions provided in Commencement Parking Map [PDF].

Blue Parking Zone on Busch Campus

  • Graduates and guests should plan to walk up to 1 mile to and from SHI Stadium 
  • Some parking will be on grass lots

Orange Parking Zone on Livingston Campus

Gray Parking Zone on College Avenue Campus

Scarlet Accessible Parking Zone on Busch Campus

  • Adjacent to SHI Stadium, across from Gates A and B

Orange Accessible Parking Zone on Livingston Campus

  • Serviced by a special Commencement shuttle designated for guests with accessible needs and one companion

Getting Around

Commencement Shuttle

Complimentary Commencement shuttle service is offered from the following parking zones to SHI Stadium on Busch Campus. Use the Commencement Parking Map [PDF] for directions to the shuttle stops. 

No shuttle service will be offered from the Cook/Douglass Campus or the Blue Parking Zone on Busch Campus.

Walking

Graduates and guests should plan to walk on Commencement Day.

  • Those parked in the Blue Parking Zone may walk up to 1 mile to and from SHI stadium 
  • Those who take the complimentary Commencement shuttle should plan to walk:
    • at least 1/3 mile from their parked car to the shuttle stop, and
    • up to 1/2 mile from the shuttle drop-off on Busch Campus to a seat at SHI Stadium

Train

New Jersey Transit

New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor Line provides New Brunswick with both local and express service between Penn Station, New York; and Newark and Trenton, New Jersey. Please check their website for up-to-date schedules and ticket information.

Amtrak

Amtrak provides limited direct service to New Brunswick; however, connections can easily be made via New Jersey Transit trains to principal Amtrak stations at MetroPark, New York, and Trenton. Please check their website for up-to-date schedules and ticket information.

Getting from New Brunswick to SHI Stadium on Busch Campus

To get from New Brunswick to SHI Stadium, take the complimentary Commencement shuttle from one of two stops.

To get to SHI Stadium on Busch Campus, take the complimentary Commencement shuttle.

Taxi and Ride Sharing Services

  • Taxis and ride sharing services (such as Uber or Lyft) are required to drop off passengers at the College Avenue Student Center, located at 126 College Avenue, New Brunswick on the College Avenue Campus
  • Take the complimentary Commencement shuttle from the stop in front of the College Avenue Student Center to SHI Stadium on Busch campus
  • Curbside drop-off at SHI Stadium is strictly prohibited
