2026 Commencement Speaker
Christopher Markus
Rutgers Alumnus Christopher Markus, Emmy Award-winning screenwriter who co-wrote six films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Narnia Trilogy, and many more, will be delivering the Commencement Address to the Class of 2026.
Christopher Godoy is graduating with a double major in economics and political science from the School of Arts and Sciences. As a first-generation student and the product of a single-parent, immigrant household, Godoy has dedicated his life thus far to public service, helping uplift the communities that helped shape him. During his time at Rutgers, he has worked to place a strong foundation that advocates for all students.
Rutgers University will award an honorary doctor of Laws degree to Mikie Sherrill in recognition of her distinguished career in military service, law, and public leadership.
