It takes a lot of hard work to earn a college degree. You—the friends and family of Rutgers graduates—have provided care, guidance, and support to the students receiving diplomas. So as much as Rutgers University Commencement marks a day of congratulations, it's also one of pride and gratitude.
Rutgers University Commencement
Join in the celebration of the historic 250th Anniversary Commencement on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. in High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. This event will celebrate our graduating class from Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Rutgers is proud to welcome our 250th Anniversary Commencement Speaker Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States.
The university will bestow an honorary doctor of laws degree upon Bill Moyers, distinguished journalist and president of the Schumann Media Center, and an honorary doctor of science degree upon pioneering researcher S. Jocelyn Bell Burnell.

Graduating students will also enjoy additional recognition and festivities at individual school convocations and ceremonies held at various times in the days around Rutgers University Commencement. Indoor and Off-Site Viewing Options
Take advantage of these alternative viewing options:
- Live Streaming Webcast: You can view University Commencement online from this website, starting at 12:30 p.m. on May 15. A high-speed internet connection, such as cable or fiber optic network, is recommended.
- Student Centers: Watch the ceremony from the comfort of indoor viewing rooms in the Busch Student Center, Livingston Student Center, or College Avenue Student Center. Situated indoors, guests can enjoy watching a live stream of University Commencement and the School of Arts and Sciences Convocation in the comfort of air conditioning and cushioned seats, and remain out of the sun and weather. Convenience stores, concessions, and restrooms will be open. Curbside drop-off to any of the these student centers is available as well. No tickets are required and seating is general admission.
